Forget LandRover unless you own a small oil-producing state. Think several times about available alternatives, then buy an old-shape Mitsi L200. Mine has run for 11 trouble-free years and works perfectly well offroad and on with Grabber AT2 rubber. Ok, not fast but reasonably comfy for a pick-up, with a civilised interior (and aircon) and a load bay which can comfortably carry a ton. Only downside is a similar turning circle to the QE2.

Defenders are great, learnt to drive in my parents early td5, but yes motorway driving isn't it's strong suit (even though ours had a disco transfer box)

Unimog's are pretty cool vehicles, the sheer unstoppability of them impresses.

i was cycling around today and saw a TVR (dunno which type, maybe a swordfish) in metallic green. Best car I've ever seen. Really hoping it was someone here. If it is you'd know as I made a pretty odd face whilst staring at the driver.

after searching that, i think so. It looked a bit like this (without the stickers obvs). TBH thinking about it now, it may not have been entirely green i you get what I'm saying.

yeah that. Pearlescent, two tone that kinda thing. Just from the angle i saw it at and the sun exposure gave it a glorious green glow. (triple alliteration)

The TVR website has been updated with the 'classic' TVR logo and wording stating that TVR will soon return to being a car manufacturer.

Whoever wants to revive it will need to wrestle control from a bloke called Les.

Dude at Mile End climbing wall has or had one of the pearlescent TVRs pink purple green gold in different lights. He wore very short shorts I seem to remember

Until a decent 928GT with a manual box comes up, I'm currently looking (well, dispatching the old man) to look at E39 m5's.
