  • Is the race cape worth it? I'll be riding on mountains a fair bit in summer and so want a proper water and wind proof shell that can actually fit into a back pocket...

  • Having owned both I would opt for the Race Cape every time, it is more fitted and the zip cuffs give a little breathable touch to the arms. The Velcro fastener on the front is great for descending when it isn't so cold, the more fitted form also flaps about less than the rain jacket. I took version one of the Cape to the Alps two years ago and it performed well, I shall be taking V2 with me this year.
    I would say that a wind jacket is a bit of a must for mountain riding for me, fits in the jersey easily and performs well on descents.
    The black version of the Race Cape looks awesome too.
