I fixed it by turning on GLONASS
ftfy.
GLONASS support on SatNavs and phones isn't there for consumers' benefit, it's there to allow the manufacturers to sell in Russia without the punitive import tarriff applied to devices with GPS only. It is an unintended consequence that it sometimes provides a faster and/or more accurate position fix.
I would have thought the smallest unit, would be a tri watch With removeable head unit. This may not be the cheapest way of doing it I Guess. But you'd have a watch instead of a second garmin bike unit. Seems betterer.
My Garmin decided yesterday that I was averaging 56kph, yet not amassing any distance travelled. I fixed it by turning on Glonass. But that left me With a 147kph max speed fecking up my records. Plus after the update that caused this mess. It decided I'd want to know my 'number of steps' throughout my ride. Why are my settings being fucked With garmin!
