I'm going to be running it alongside the 800 during audax. The problem I have is that I need to eyeball the map all the time but then I can't see my power, which means I'm not doing my training properly.
Obviously Garmin should have a split map function that allows a row above the map to show one or two fields of ANT+ data but they suck, so instead I'll buy another one of their devices..

Yeah think you can on 1000 and also 810.
I'll double check 1000 later.
That said. I just leave it on turn by turn and then how power screen showing and then flick back and forth if I need to check something.

Sounds like you need a device which shows a map and allows you to customise the data fields below it?

I've got an 800 and I'm almost certain that on the map screen you can set a couple of data fields to display at the top. I have time and distance displayed sometimes.
I haven't got it in front of me, but can check when at home.
