Rear wheel can be anything.

If you're going 650b, there's some massive tyres you can get, like this in 62mm;
If it's too big, then the modest 50mm Big Ben is ample;

Do you reckon the tyres you want would fit on carbon mtb 650b rims? If you went for a matt UD finish with silver spokes and hubs it would keep it classic and classy.

Easier done than said, 650b wheel set are easy to get.
Big 42mm tyres will be amazing, also mean the front load will be easier to handle too.
