Finished the wheelset for my '88 pursuit build. Felt like years of searching to find a silver Italian rim with no brake wear and then a c-record hub holes to match.

The hub must be an early model with unusual recessing at only every second hole. Heads didn't sit nicely radially either way around so we decided on the alternating them at 1x pattern to be safe.. elbows supported and still looks the goods I think!

Looking at the end of the thread, you'll see that custom sizes will be cut at the end of this month for people who order them by then. I've just ordered another length of 2" bar stock.

Slowly working issue by issue through my Rebiai project.

New (can't be more than 50km on them) wheelset, Maillard 700 sealed bearing hubs, Open4 CD rims, Continental GP tyres (probably to change for something more comfortable than this 20c pair, perhaps their modern 25c 'Classic' counterpart).

Most everything on this bike has been installed without grease 20 something years ago and is firmly stuck, in addition mounted by a man who thinks there can never be enough torque.

So I've finally managed to undo the brake cable clamps today, the bolts for clamping the brake cable are rounded out and to be replaced, at the same time I'm replacing the central pivot bolt - out with the external nut one and in with one setup for a recessed allen key version - the bike will actually take them but has been mounted with the old style external nut versions and some washers inbetween. Lucky I've a donor set of Modolos for the task.

New commuter, hopefuly ratty enough to prevent it from getting stolen like the previous one.

CX frame with big tyres, speed AND comfort, so nice.

DIBS for when you'll decide to get rid of it as there's my surname on the DT and today is actually my birthday and I can't seem to get hold of one of those and maybe some other reasons :P

I see the Paul Components one.. way to expensive.

Paint is in a bit of a state though, looks better on the photo somehow. It's a Belgian brand so http://www.2ehands.be is a good place to find one.

Kalloy do a copy. Actually I expect the BLB is a rebranded Kalloy. I cant remember the model number to search for though.

It's a Belgian brand so 2ehands.be is a good place to find one.

The company was located in Geraardsbergen (city where you can find the famous "Muur" or "wall" that used to be the decisive climb in the "Ronde van Vlaanderen"). They had some nice frames but struggled with something typically Belgian: if it's local, only locals will buy it (and so they never really got famous). And ofcourse there was back then that other typical Belgian thing : "if it's not a Merckx or Colnago, it's not a racebike".

2dehands.be is indeed a good place to find them.

Lovely, definetly not ratty enough for not getting stolen! Are the bars the kind that come of nice old ladies racers? What are the tires? Was the last one locked up with a U-lock?
