  • so my builder tells me that the previous tenants have done something dodgy with the electrics and have removed a 'henley box' or fuse part where the mains electric enters the house. i think they've basically connected into the mains and by passed the meter for a few circuits, and maintained the feed through the meter for the remaining use. effectively paying for some and not paying for some.
    spoke to the electricity provider (isupplyenergy - (don't use them)) and the berd on the phone didn't have a clue what i was on about, so i told her to just google the term henley box anyway...
    nevertheless she is claiming that i'll have to cover a call out charge and cost of fixing it.

    any idea where the liability lies and if i definitely have to pick up the tab? i thought the supply before the meter was the responsbility of the electricity provider or national grid, and after the meeting is the customer? or am i completely wrong here? any ideas appreciated
