existentialism?

First ride today. Realised it's maybe a little long for me but I can put up with that. Lots of fun.
Still on temporary wheels, seat, post and pedals but nice to have it rolling finally

If a little long, just get some short reach handlebar, like the Zipp SL70.

70mm reach does sound nice but I like the compact drop shape and would it not be easier to swap the 110mm stem for a 90mm or something? All parts are second hand on this, don't want to spend 45 quid on handlebars I don't need

Buy my ergonovas? They're compact and reach is about 70mm
Carbon wheels and that would be hotness.

I'm getting reimbursed for my written off bike after a recent crash so carbon wheels are on the cards.
But I like these bars! I just want a smaller stem for freee -
• #100983
That or I'm tempted to just go all out and get a Chinese carbon frame
-
• #100984
Yeah but stems <100mm always look a bit off on normal-sized road bikes
-
• #100985
The SL70 is a compact drop.
Swapping stem is easy, looking like a chode isn't.

Aren't they're 77mm?
-

Wise words ed. I'll have a think. Stem will stay then.
-
• #100988
A. You should just get shorter bars, not stem
B. if you buy some chinese crap can donate the GT to me?
C. Unless it's lazer etched, pls get some nail varnish remover on that seatpost!

• #100989
Apparently so. Blast.
-
• #100990
Still 27mm less reach than the aeronovas though.

Actually looking at your photo, you just need to rotate the levers higher and rotate drop a little lower.
edit; better example, right one is what to aim for;

Look at the photo again, if he drops them any lower the ends will be pointing to the moon. Well weird shape they are!

Do you not mean brake bridge?

Came in like this (first one in line)
and turned it into this, using some spare stuff from the bike-shed. Maybe I'll put on some Vitus decals again, don't know. It's a new bike for the mrs, she can decide on that.

Builds a Vitus for wife....
Goes inside to check the specifics of her life-assurance.Seriously though, that is a sensitive build and the result is very pretty and timeless, whilst remaining practical - I like it a lot

thinking poss a mike burrows type aero post with 27.2 once i locate expanding clamp bolt gubbins

I wouldn't give her one if I knew she would "race" it. Think the glued joints just can withstand the Watts she's developing ;-)

Played around with 8 speed components from my tourer to get something a little less sprinty, so here is the Motobecane as it stands now, and will stay until i have money to do her actual justice.
good work Tom ,looks way better now :-)
