Also last well, and a design icon in the V&A. ;)
Got a kitchen knife from TKMax for an emergency as I need a knife that I would use once and then see how it lasted. Avoid the cyclist threatner's brand and all the fake sabtier blades, I picked up an ambition titanium 15cm cooks knife.
Has a nice wieght to it and cuts well, the handle is real wood and the blade has a nicer taper to it.
Opinels are the definition of a functional knife.
These things just work, feel good and are cheap to replace.
Like a FKNPNA maybe
Oh and also they look good, so, right place to be. Or is there a functional knives thread?
