Opinels are the definition of a functional knife.
These things just work, feel good and are cheap to replace.

Got a kitchen knife from TKMax for an emergency as I need a knife that I would use once and then see how it lasted. Avoid the cyclist threatner's brand and all the fake sabtier blades, I picked up an ambition titanium 15cm cooks knife.
Has a nice wieght to it and cuts well, the handle is real wood and the blade has a nicer taper to it.

Undecided if this should be in knife porn or utility but I bought myself a knife while I was in France. It is an opinel no9, from decathlon for 8euro http://www.decathlon.fr/opinel-n9-id_8111973.html It is a lovely knife, just feels right in your hand. It is light and comfortable to use, have even used it as a chefs knife as it is a new toy and I wanted to use it.
If anyone wants a feel can meet up at drinks to let you have a go.
