  • The odds are that: he'll raise awareness, raise Chelsea's profile in Japan, be paid for by Yokohama rubber, has decent resale potential, sell a load of shirts. If he proves to be capable of getting first team games for Chelsea than that's a bonus.

    Don't forget that Chelsea made a lot of profit on the Lukaku transfer and got one of the best strikers in the business in return.

    You can twist, turn, criticise and do what you like but you can't really fault Chelsea's transfer strategy over the last 3 or 4 years.
