For the pursuit, I'd have thought. Think he was around 420-440w for his hour attempt.
-
• #8953
Ah well, anyone can do that. :)
It's doing it and weighing fuck all and being rocket aero where the trouble starts.

570 watts is about my 20 second power (in the TT position, which isn't particularly conducive to big efforts).
-
• #8955
You're quite a bit smaller than me though. Less 'thick' :)

I rode that event. I think Boardman was half way home before I finished.

That 570w was at the end of a ramp/incremental/Vo2 max test. It's a hell of a lot, most well trained UK amateurs are around 400-450w.

The only meaningful Wattage figure I can ever remember is that Wiggins' Olympic gold TT was about 400W average.
-
• #8959
And that's probably wrong
-
• #8960
Nearer to 440w I'd have thought
-
• #8961
Seems like it

But they got the prediction wrong so could be more?

I heard third hand (via someone via Sean Yates) that it was high 400s, but I'm not sure how much I believe that, especially as it was with a wonky chainring on an SRM.

Never knew obree made his own saddle too! ha!

I did my first evening 10 of the year today. Punctured on the start line, quickly changed tubes and rode it with 60psi in the rear, but missed my slot so didn't get an official time. 90GI was too big for the long draggy hill on the way out and too small on the way back down. I also must have dropped my wheel nut wrench somewhere.
Things can only get better.:(

Bad luck! Unofficial time?
-
• #8966
23.2mph according to Garmin. Whassat? 26ish? I was down to 14mph up the hill. No fun. Must get fitter. Or gears.

Anyone doing BUCS 10 this Saturday? It's on H10/17R near Oxford.
-
• #8968
23.2mph would be 25m51s. Game on... ;)

90GI was too big for the long draggy hill on the way out and too small on the way back down.>
Probably about right then?
-
• #8970
Aye. Fixed is stoopid.
Smashed the rest of my class for the win though. 43 starters, 42 with gears.
-
• #8971
Definitely about right then.
-
• #8972
Arse, the H25/2 event is closed.
-
• #8973
Still haven't got the hang of entry schedules? When you mentioned it on Monday, I assumed you were about to get onto the online entry immediately.
-
• #8974
What??? Balls.
-

Nope. It was hard enough trying to enter TTs when it was just ad hoc H courses. Now I'm trying to fit in audaxes for PBP qualifying and proper structured training.
Might ride to Paris instead.
For how long?
