  • Don't make me hide your knee warmers!

  • I've made some space above you for the eligible competitors :-)

  • I only ride geared to save you guys further embarrassment. :P

  • R25/3H is slightly slower and stays on the DC going up the hill a bit, 3L turns left to finish down a sliproad

  • I don't know what BAR stands for but looking at those times I won't embarrass myself by adding my name to the list.

  • I don't know what BAR stands for

Best All Rounder. The main national ranking (BBAR = British Best All Rounder) was created by Cycling Weekly when it still cared about TTs, based on an average of a rider's average speeds over 50m, 100m and 12h. Many other forms of BAR are run by different clubs and groups over various distances. The Forum BAR is for fixed gear rides over 10m, 25m and 50m. You might as well stick some times up, especially if you complete the 3 distances, so far we've never had more than 2 qualifying riders in one season.

  • I did the first club Tuesday evening TT tonight. The good news was that I did a 19.45. The bad news is it was only an 8 mile course.

  • Wait. What? That works out to under 25 mins for the 10 I think? You're going to beat me.

  • Ah, but that was on my Cervelo P2 TT bike, with a skinsuit and a pointy hat. Rather than a Macinato, shorts'n'jersey and a normal lid. It's all to play for...

  • Cheers. Should I try and have a crack at this one day or do you think Etwall is a better bet? I'm only on a 55min 25 at the moment so might not get in to the Welsh races.

  • 'Beer And Rogan josh'

  • 55 will get you in either easy. Etwall is consistently fast whereas Wales can be a bit hit and miss if you get a bad day. I won't be riding Wales this year just because there's no point on fixed! So Etwall for me when I can.

  • Just had a look and Etwall is actually closer to me - 2hr drive vs. 3hr so I might keep an eye on their events too.

Now about your aero testing.. #nagginggetsresults

  • 'Beer And Rogan josh'

Later, maybe. Around the result board it's Banter And Ribaldry

  • Maybe see you there Amey, i am entered. First competitive cycling ever.

  • gears bugging out tonight so I did the E21/10 mainly in 55X14 and the 15 cog to come in 8th on 25m32s. I need a new freewheel.

  • NOOB ALERT

This is in the event name of an open. What does it mean?:
    "MM Slower than 56:00 LTS"

  • Well the background news over the past couple of weeks is that I now own Aero-Coach Ltd, and am getting bookings sorted at Newport for aero testing starting up next week. I'll be relaunching everything (there is also an Aero-Coach in Aus but that's run by Alex Simmons) with a new website etc too, and taking on bookings from May onwards at Newport.

  • MM stands for Middle Markers, meaning it's an event designed for people who aren't the fastest and who aren't the slowest.

For a normal CTT event you pick the fastest 120 riders and the 121st fastest gets cut, but there are also slowest 120 events where the reverse happens. A Middle Markers event is for those somewhere in the middle, so in this particular case you can't have a LTS (personal best time over the Last Three Seasons) of quicker than 56:00 for 25 miles.

  • Or ride fixed like everyone here should be doing ;)

Got it: Middle Markers, Last Three Seasons.

    I'll enter then...

  • Cheers Xav

  • I now own Aero-Coach Ltd

    Very cool indeed. Congrats.
