Think I'll put an ad in the Redcliffe local paper, bound to be loads of old dears getting rid of their old timepieces...
"1967 Explorer 1016, you say? NAAFI isuse, boxed with papers, you say? $500?"
(pause)
"I can be there in five minutes..." -

No probs but I've bought 2 genuine classics from that site and saved over 3k between the two in the process. Fakes are everywhere, you just have to know what to look out for. Just sayin' ;)

Where can I get some super strong strap pins? Like 2mm diameter, with stiff springs for 22mm lugs?
Almost lost my Steinhart at the weekend. Luckily it was on a Nato strap so was saved by the other pin. Still, I'd rather this didn't happen again. -

Sorry but i prefer bracelets...
The only thing i'd be tempted by is a perlon strap:

Good choice. I have a spare one of those in my watch box ready to go on my new diver once it gets through customs

You can get thicker spring bars on eBay. Other option is to get shoulderless bars as these sometimes work out stronger, but are a bugger to remove (you size them to be the same as the lug width).

Thanks I'll check out eBay.
I can see what you mean about the shoulderless bars. -

Thanks t, I'll keep an eye out on T'Bay and maybe go for the £225 version without GLTS, and i didnt realise it was that big, hmm more thinking to be done.
I'm in Bangkok in the summer so I might pick up an AP Royal Oak copy for the bantz.
Long term I love the new blue-as-hell Pelagos and in the very long term I'd love me a Milgauss cos i do Physics and because /magnets.It's far from the best/most effective Faraday cage in watch design. \/ery good looking though.

So, can buy my Dad's Omega for £1800...they now retail at around £3800
Looks like this
Should I?
And I've earmarked my cash for a house by the seaside in Oz... #semiretired
My timepiece will have to wait, even tho' the exchange rate would be fantastic if I were to find one out in Oz...
