  • Haha. you Miss it already!

  • Except that you can't get on the trains in the morning since they fill up in streatham and Herne hill.

  • A few years ago I considers buying property in LJ, as it seemed inevitable that it would be up and coming soon.

The I remembered that property speculation of this type is lowest form of cuntery.

  • It was hard enough getting on at HH...

  • True that.

I am right now standing on the platform having failed to board the delayed 8.32.

  • Signed up for it but obvs unable to attend...

  • swap the word 'gentrification' for 'islamification'. self serving, exclusionary bullshit is just that regardless of the intent. 'Brixton is for everyone! except these people.'

    no thanks.

  • What happened to riding bikes?

  • Won't it just be filled with Dick's in Brixtons trying to out OG each other?

  • ^ zactly. 'Jake Sebastian' will be there trying to ensure everyone that his claim to authenticity is unassailable. As is often the case with anyone that accuses other people of being 'hipsters'.

  • It's obvs a no win situation for people who've lived there during the bad times, Lambeth council are clearly jumping up and down with joy... They won't be laughing when they get voted out by all the Tarquins and Davinas who've moved in over the road from Brockers...

PS Was talking to Carlson from the Effra just before I left, he's looking to ship out to Jamaica ASAP... He can't stand his own pub anymore, lel...

  • Like on here?

  • The intent is good but I don't like the tone in which that is written. Black Revs can especially fuck off, they've been robbing their own community for years.

  • the U75 glee club are as cheery as ever.

  • They've just been told they've gotta move to WestNorwoodz4lyf...

  • sorry. we're full. besides, they won't like it - there's a Picture House opening in the soon to be hoofed out of town Nettlefield Halls library on the cards. #nunubrixton

  • I can see that reclaim thing getting ugly. I mean... how can it not?

  • indeed. especially if these keyboard warrioring fucking wankstains get thier way.

  • Regardless of gentrification Brixton was going to change anyway. Big West Indian mainly Jamaican community back in the day that landed from Windrush etc. and got on with life in the UK.

These people who came over in the 50s or 60s are now retirement age plus, small wonder that they want to sell up their over-priced (due to market conditions) London pad and buy a palace in comparison back home. So they can live out the rest of their years in peace.

My plan is to do the opposite. I can buy about half an acre of land to build on in Jamaica for around 9k depending on location. Dream home here I come, as far away from London and bitchy middle-class mess as possible thankyouverymuch.

  • Carlson would enjoy his own pub bit more if he a) didn't employ shit staff, b) didn't let the diva run things on Sunday nights, c) chose not to let racists in the place on a Thursday just because they pay good money, d) stopped hitting on female customers just out of their teens (but that would mean not being a letch) and e) didn't waste time and money sanding the floor and reducing seating capacity. The place is shit and it's largely his own fault.

  • He is a massive lech...

  • If it's any consolation shit business people, regardless of race, who leave Brixton to make way for the swathes of Corona sipping middle-class numpties will still be shit business people wherever they end up :)

  • Where should I take mrs_com for dinner tonight? Only prerequisite is that it should not be too busy. And it should be nice, obvs.

She was in bed most of the BH weekend with flu so could do with cheering up.
