I've started sending out CVs to companies in Brisbane and we're starting to look at property over there... Fingers crossed prices don't change too much between now and when we go over, the location we're looking at seems pretty stable compared to other places close by tho'...

Get there in April, rent a house after a couple of weeks at the missus's folk's place, hope all our stuff arrives from London, find work, get mortgage, find our own house, get dog, live happily ever after... :)

Shipping company recommendations please, just got a £1300 quote from PSS... I think that's way too high... One bed flat contents, a chest of draws, four stacking and one office chair...

I do have a few records, many boxes of trainers, four bikes and eight guitars but still sounds too high...

We are moving to NZ at the end of the year and have used a service called Movecube from Seven Seas Shipping. Not taking much in the way of furniture but couple of bikes clothes kitchen stuff and a few chairs. Medium cube runs at about £600.

Just booked my one way ticket to Oz, can't believe how cheap it was... Me and the missus with a two night 4* stopover in KL for just over £1k...

Getting a bit closer day by day, next step is to actually book our shipping... On reflection £1200 sounds about right for all the stuff I have...

We were thinking about moving out for a couple of years on a working holiday visa as the gf's sisters have both emigrated and she wants to be closer to them again. Unfortunately I completely forgot I had a working holiday visa (working part unused) when I was 18 and didn't know you had to have worked a min number of days under the previous one to qualify for a second (as far as I understand it). 31st birthday has come and gone, so in any case I'm ineligible now. Fail.

Fortunately my job is on the SOL so there's always that option.

WTF was I thinking when I decided to spend 5 weeks in Spain with the parentals before going over to Oz?!?

Stuck in the middle of nowhere, can't drive, nothing to do apart from rolling around the drive on my skateboard... I'm going crazy, I feel like a hamster in a cage...
