  • Yeah, after waiting for everyone to leave so I could park the car in the other carpark and walk back to the HQ, I managed to get lost (screw you Garmin and screw you brain for taking so long to notice the mistake) on the 3Down so added about 34k to my ride before I even made the first checkpoint! I guess that helped shape my 'mood' so I then went about hammering the rest of the way trying to make up the time. I came in around 7th which isn't bad considering I'd given everyone except Marin a 2hr head start. "It's not a race... unless it is a race". Good training and an April audax so 3/12 for RRtY if I carry on.

  • I finished within the time limit which isn't bad considering I'd given everyone except Marin a 2hr head start.

    Fixed

  • Hey it was the helpers that told me I was seventh back, otherwise I'd have had no idea.

FYI: I am 'racing' these - it's how I motivate myself to ride them hard rather than enjoying the scenery and lounging about in cafes. They're acting as training for me for my longer TTs. I will try and 'win' the next one just like I try and 'win' my commutes or I 'win' the 'race' up the stairs or 'win' my shuffle for the bus or any other little internal competitions I arrange for myself. Other people must do this, right? No one else need be aware of my challenge to only use every third stair and beat that guy in the blue suit to the top of the escalators...
