Think this will be my next frame, but need to ride the Concorde through this summer first!
Oh, and to get down to 14st before I bother with a carbon frame for weight savings!

This was at the ideal home show for some reason

so I can build up a Colnago road bike

Just waiting for the right Art Deco frame to turn up in my size..
Nicest looking bikes in my opinion

Alex, I think we all know I'm not ever going to be 10st!
-
• #1709
Then you'll never need a carbon bike :)
-
• #1710
No one that isn't pro "needs" a carbon frame, just like you don't want gears!
-
• #1711
But I'm intentionally limiting myself to have to work harder; I don't need gears for what I want to get out of cycling, therefore I don't have them.
I feel that buying loads of carbon stuff is just a way of achieving the same goals, but paying for it to be easier rather than working to get there.
Plus your Concorde is rad, and certainly doesn't warrant replacing!

I totally get what you're saying - I think I need to just ride it loads and decide what I want, rather than just collect projects!
Really enjoyed going for a ride yesterday and definitely managed it quicker than I would have done fixed, though I really need to sort out my riding position as it's still not 100%
Feel like I'm having to push myself back on the saddle every few hundred yards and that my "sensitive areas" are a little uncomfortable - need a saddle with a cutout I think and a longer stem #euph as I find too upright on the flats, too bunched up on the drops and leaning over and resting my palms on the top of the hoods rather than using their recesses
#internetbikefit etc
p.s swapped to the Concor yesterday which I found more comfortable than the Rolls

What about if you prefer the look of a carbon frame? Does that warrant having one? ;)
-
• #1714
I don't think I've ever needed to upgrade anything, it's just nice shiny things that tempt!
-
• #1715
I don't see the harm in going carbon of you like the look of it but not nessesarly need the weight saving option it's no different to buying a painted bike because it looks nice...
-
• #1716
That would make sense if the Argon actually looked nice
-
• #1717
@TomvanHalen in difference of opinion shocker...
-
• #1718
Oh yeah, I've got no problem with people buying things for aesthetic reasons (why else would I have a verging-on-full Mavic groupset on my fancy French faded track frame) I just think that buying carbon under the illusion of some unnecessary marginal gains is a waste of money.

• #1720
Then you may as well sod the weight loss and just get it now... :)
-
• #1721
Where would the fun be if everyone agreed with each other? ;)
-
• #1722
That or a Cervelo S2!
-
• #1723
I've seen a 15% increase in the number of cyclists that acknowledge my on-road greetings when I'm on the Giant.
Worth it.

Tidy! Is that mud or paint missing under the TT and the DT?
Edit- Nevermind checked the imgur pics. Looks good man! Been tempted for a single speed mtb sort of thing lately.
Haha good excuse to build another bike just to fit the speed plays, I'm debating selling both bikes so I can build up a Colnago road bike... I need to keep the MTB but the other 2 might be going to fund new project
