  • Kid in my class at primary school called Gregor McGregor

  • That's quite a traditional way of naming kids in Scotland. I have no idea why.

  • Anyway, on Monday, I'm going to see Dr Katie Cartledge.

Tenuous, but she's going to have a look at my cartilage.

  • Just blow on it and put it back in.

  • There used to be a Dr/Mr Cartliage/Cartledge who was a knee surgeon in Glasgow.

I have no idea how it was spelled but his son and I went rides with the same mtb club for a while.

Do you think that if you apply to a medical degree and you have a name that resembles some sort of part of the anatomy they just fast track you through?

Hope not for the sake of your cartilage!

  • Paging Dr Banjostrap.

(Wasn't there a Nominative Determinism thread already?)

  • I went to primary school with a Ronald McDonald ..tru fax, his parents were from the Scottish isles to be fair

  • Real names:

  • Well there are lots of beaches around there right?

  • She must be a relative of @BRM

  • *sicks in mouth*

  • I've met her brother, rusty.

that is a fucking unfortunate name...

  • I went to school with someone called Hamish Patel.

  • "Rusty Trapp" does triathlon (he was finishing just behind my brother in the Alcatraz triathlon and the MC was calling out the names of people in the finishing straight).

  • I used to holiday here as a lad... http://www.sandyballs.co.uk/

not a person, but still >>>>

  • The English surname 'Furzer' will always resonate particularly with people who understand German.

  • I know that to be fart. I know because I know a person called Thurza and when I introduced her to another person I know who is German he chuckled. He's a forty-something doctor and he laughed because her name sounded a bit like fart.

Still, every time I go to Germany I am constantly amused by all the fahrts and kunts.
