Nothing pro about stubble. Shave, you don't wanna be waxing every week.
-
• #579
(I am not a pro) Reminds me I need to shave too... Anyway.

just shaved my legs.
feels weird. -

More problematic is where to stop.
I tend to go to a few inches above the bottom of my bib short leg elastic. Which is generally fine until I do handstands etc in yoga, and then there is a section of hair short exposed.

All the way surely?
Also is this mumsnet?
-
• #583
Where does all the way stop? Sack and crack? Navel, chest, head?
-
• #584
That is your prerogative.

Best not to shave while it's growing back - the regrowing hairs make little bumps just before emerging and it's just not good to keep shaving the tops off. Exfoliate instead, no-one wants loads of ingrowing hairs. Wait for it all to grow out a bit then wax. Or if you think you'll keep at it get an epilator - you can use them on shorter hairs than waxing, and it's much less hassle for getting at random regrowing hairs like from where they've broken at the surface instead of being pulled out properly.

surely hairy boxers is the worst of all possible combinations?
-
• #587
I just trim them using my beard trimmer.
-
• #588
This was a pleasing revelation to me...
Waxing was expensive and a hassle, shaving was unbearably itchy but this season I just trimmed everything back using the shortest setting on my beard trimmer. Not quite as sleek as the other options but 90% of the way there with 10% of the trouble.
Pro tip: remember not to wear speedos to the swimming pool if you've gone for the hairy boxers approach...

Exactly, might be slightly less sleek, but also regrowth no where near as itchy and does not look extra thick like stubble. Can still see the definition and veins so thats all that matters.

Shaved without being smoooth though... I'm out.
I'm quite looking forward to some cold weather, legwarmers/tights and getting away with having a hairy pair (of legs!).

Vanity shaving. Pfft.
No aeroz, no talkz.
-
• #592
You are right, that stubble does hold me back nearly 2 mins on my commute.
-
• #593
Beard-trimmer crew: get an epilator. As quick and easy as shaving, total smoothness and lasts much longer...
-
• #594
And total agony.

Ha I dont have a few hairs, its a veritable rainforest.

Given the amount that came off with the beard trimmer I recon it was worth at least a minute over a 25... I'm prepared to sacrifice the remaining few seconds for the convenience.
That said, that kind of lackadaisical approach to marginal gains is probably the reason I've never won a national championship. Or maybe I'm just shit...

I trained harder, ate better, addressed more of the issues that slowed me down in any way all to crash and burn mentally before achieving shit all this year. So now I'm back on the 'fuck gains, drink beer' approach that worked much better for me in the past.

So who else has started shaving again as the seasons are changing?
I got the withering shudder look from my partner today
Finally made the full transition to roadie with the girlfriend helping me to wax it all off. So smooth and damn, it looks good. Now it's a week in and starting to grow back. What do you do? Shave or wait for it to grow long enough to wax again?
