My goals this year were to have a crack at the RRtY and try a 300. I've got my eye on a 2nd 300 (Oasts and Coasts) at the end of April. But as 300 will be the furthest that I've ridden I wanted to try that first before looking at a 400. And take on board all the the variables - fitness, food, weather, sleep and above all mental attitude.
I was however discussing the idea of doing the Dunwich Dynamo this year, which I've never ridden and thought perhaps if I'm fit enough by then to also ride back making it a 400. But that's not till July. There are few listed on the 9th of May which would fit into my calendar. I'm also less fearful of hills and even starting to like them (a bit) due to riding my hilly 100k training ride into Kent and doing those longer rides on fixed.
But I'm not jumping ahead. I want to see the evidence of a 300 completed before I book on a 400 or even consider it.
Talking of fixed. I'm wondering about doing this 300 on fixed so that I can have my pannier full of gear. Route looks fairly flat. Hmm.
