What is driving without due care and attention?
Careless driving or driving without due care and attention or careless driving is defined as;
Driving that falls below the standard expected of a competent driver; or
Driving that does not show reasonable consideration for other persons using the road or pathways

Does anyone know why the prosecution dropped the dangerous driving charge?

It appears to have been heard in a crown court which I think means a trial by jury. Perhaps they are just being pragmatic in the knowledge that, once the seriousness of a dangerous driving charge is made clear to them, juries just won't convict.

dangerous driving requires proof that the driver's behaviour was ``far below'' that expected. Given driving blinded by sun for 30 seconds isn't careless you need to be pretty spectacularly bad to be dangerous.

Saturday evening was punish passed by someone that if I were to describe in simple descriptive terms without prejudice would in return label me a sexist racist I'm sure... when I tapped on the window to ask politely not to pass so close next time (I even said please), got an earful of "OH F*** OFF!", and hands waved around at me. Didn't catch that number plate. But had to call the po-po for the group of ten that started on me in the pub later that night anyway.

Also watch out for a big white van number plate ND53ODA, I forgot to log date and time, was late last week, but I was forced toward the curb as they flew wide around a bus on Rodney Rd.
