They will be way lighter than track cranks, cheaper than something modern, and look a bit better too. The Dura Ace 7410 cranks I used last year were about 550g, assuming BB is about 200, thats 750 total, not bad at all really!
I've got some force cx1 cranks, but the chainline would be irritating, as would needing to buy new chainrings, and finding something else to put on my cross bike for a few months
