I would consider myself non-soppy and definitely without children. Definitely a lumpy throat though, must be allergies, or like a cold coming on, or something...

Great stuff Luci! It's such a strange feeling that: the solitary, quiet, empty home after the frantic hospital and before the mum and baby come home. You've captured the whole thing just right, as ever.

Some interesting feedback there - I'm well chuffed that none parents could empathize with it too.

I re-saw myself in a matching theatre (all three times) standing there like the spare part, hoping, praying, fearing.
Great detail recall and balance.

Very topical for me, we had a scan yesterday and found out well be having a son in August.

If you remove the knives from the story, that was basically how I felt on the day my son was born.... Brilliant writing.

A guy I used to work with has just posted this one on Facebook and he has nothing to do with the forum. Felt like I (tenuously) knew a celebrity for a bit.
