It's the "regular couch potato guy who turned himself into a top athlete" line that particularly annoyed me. As if all "regular couch potato guys" just happened to have swam to national squad standards in their youth.
Just wait for my book: How an average lazy fat middle-aged ex-40-a-day-smoker who drank too much turned himself into a bog standard average triathlete (if he actually bothers to do one) who still drinks too much. Alternative title: Endurance Idiot.
Swim Bike Run done. Enjoyed it mostly. Looking forward to something non-sporty to read. Might have to go back and finish off Never Let Me Go.
