To summarise: people now buy Rapha because of visibility issues?

You can't roll a gabba up and put it in your back pocket to keep there for sudden showers, cafe stops and long descents..

Thanks for earlier replies, I'll email them. Ta.

Why are they selling a National Jersey, isn't that a bit disrespectful. Should be won not bought.

I'd rather be passed 'dangerously close' by a bunch of cars (whose drivers noticed me) than plowed from the rear by one transit van (whose driver didn't).
It's a sad thing we can't do anything about it.

looks like a Castelli pocketliner http://www.wiggle.co.uk/castelli-pocket-liner-jacket/
edit - actually, I think @604cefiro was right with the muur - same zip

• #20039
It isn't quite the same as the cuffs are different, but the Muur is as close as I can see from their current line up

Cheers chaps. Looks like something new in the pipeline then maybe?

You made the right choice, you only have to look at the Chartreuse and it marks. They do clean up well though. I too have gone for a black one, I am interested to see what those cuff zips are like compared to my first gen version.

+1 on the new cuff zips. That was one thing that I didn't quite like about my 1st gen one, it was difficult to get off with gloves on or while it was soaked (i'd have to flip it inside out), and it was difficult to put it on while on the bike. I always felt like I was forcing the cuff to stretch

I have to stop reading this thread. I only popped in for a second and now I've gone and bought a pro team jacket in red.
Oh well, I was sort of on the look out for one and it being less than a ton fifty seemed a steal, nearly.

PT jacket is a great piece of kit I got a lot of use from mine over the winter. I think it's done until next winter for me however

Whats the score with the RCC bike borrowing situation? Do you have to pay to borrow a bike from one of the stores or is that part of your membership fee?

I was out last night in a SS brevet and my race cape. It was clear but cold. -3C and I was still nice and comfy. The selling point of the race cape. Is that its a serious barrier to the elements for something that still fits in a jersey pocket, and the aggressive cut.
-
• #20048
Any one know how the race Cape sizes come in , compaired to last years pro team jacket
-
• #20049
Much the same I'd say. But there's less stretch. So you need to be a little more careful. If you put it on, and its tight across the chest and shoulders while only reaching down to your belly button at the front. Bingo, it fits. Once on the bike its great. You look like you're wearing a child's jacket walking around at cafe stops. But even folded into the drops. The short front means no annoying fold.
