Chainring would have to move so much if FD set up correctly it would almost have to be a BB problem with the axle getting mobile.

Isn't their drive chain a mix of different manufacturers, Shimano chains, FSA shifters, SRAM cranks? I know they may be compatible but surely not as good as all the same. Daft for a pro-team and it's costing them

Big big fan the 'Kolb bumfluff tache. And his post-race interviews. He gives good Teutonic yah yahs
Oh and his crazy chicken bobbing head during his sprint. Puncheur or sprinter? He's got a good combination of both, first of many monuments?

Not sure. I don't pay much attention to pro kit any more unless it's a bit off piste.
Probably just Cav using it as an excuse because he was dropped. ;)

You were the only person on the planet who fancied his chances today. Given the fast finishers in the team, I'd imagine he had a job to do for the likes of Ciolek and EBH.

first of many monuments?
I think at the end of his career, Degenkolb will be a bigger star than Zabel, injuries etc. permitting, of course.

Last 40km for anyone who missed it. That channel has all the races.

Watching it again, I can't get over how strong Thomas was. He was on the front for so long. Bodes well for the Ronde where hopefully he'll be allowed to have a go.
Strange that Cancellara didn't get to the front at any point. Surely he wasn't expecting to win against the sprinters? Arredondo was much more visible.

^ nice one
it's all about not being at the front at any time until the right time (Via Roma)

• #1145
But Cancellara has no chance in a flat sprint against the likes of Degenkolb and Kristoff. He needed to be clear of them by at least 10 seconds at the top of the Poggio.
-
• #1146
Dunno, the seated sprinter himself thinks he was in a good position halfway the last km. Maybe he should have done it like you say.
-
• #1147
Has he ever won a sprint in a group of more than 5 riders? Off the top of my head, I can't think of an example.
He's got a decent finish, but he isn't explosive in the way Degenkolb, Kristoff and Sagan are.
-
• #1148
I know, now he needs to find it out himself ;)

Watched the last 10. That was great.
Checklist:
Crash
Helmet thrown down
Mad dash up the Poggio
Crackers descending
Insane strongman pulling everyone else along
GvA in almost but not quite
Bunch sprint

He admits in that piece 'I had six world class sprinters in front of me'.
They're meant to be behind you Fabs.
I'd like to be proved wrong but I think the years have caught up.
I like Degs, so I'm happy with that result.
That 'tache has got to go though.
