@Scilly.Suffolk is a great trader. He brought the product to my attention, excellent communication, good price and super fast delivery.
-
• #3253
By bike even from Ipswich to the Suffolk sticks.
-
• #3254
He sent me a parcel to arrive on my birthday. That's service.
-
• #3255
Despite his questionable genetic lineage and webbed toes, Scilly is 100% top bloke.
-
• #3256
Nah, he's an arse, burn him! Where's my pitchfork?
-
• #3257
I misread this as
Nah, he's an arse, bum him! Where's my pitchfork?
-
• #3258
easily done!
-
• #3259
Wow, in what world can you be easily bummed with a pitchfork?

You didn't look at the photos I published? You also didn't inspect the components before confirming that you were happy with your purchase? You bought second-hand components without considering that their condition wouldn't be as new? IT'S A CORRODED BOLT FFS.
Admittedly I didn't fully inspect the items, my mistake. You seemed like a nice guy so I trusted everything was in good condition. I even chose to overlook the massive smoke damage all the parts had because I was happy overall. Regardless of whether you think the corrosion a trivial issue, it spoils what is otherwise a groupset that looks in great condition. Just because its not important to you, don't presume that it isn't for another. For your information, the cheapest replacement anchor and bolt I could find is £9 and it's not even in stock. I found one that is and its £22 'FFS' (to quote you). Not cheap.
No, I'm excusing myself because, as I've already told you, I didn't know the adjuster was rounded-off because I didn't use it: I have readily accepted your word that it was in that condition when you received it. As such I would have refunded you £20.
Regardless, you should have checked everything was in working order before you agreed to the sale. If it was me, I wouldn't feel comfortable selling something for hundreds of pounds without first giving everything a proper check over.
I only fitted the groupset recently so, naturally, I hadn't noticed the issue up until now.
I didn't want your £20, all I wanted was for you to acknowledge that the part was unsuitable.

Keep digging, sunshine. You're doing an excellent job of making @Scilly.Suffolk 's point for him. For someone who's 'happy overall' you're doing a fine job of bitching about it. BTW, how the fuck do you cause 'smoke damage' to something made of metal?
-
• #3262
TW, how the fuck do you cause 'smoke damage' to something made of metal?
You smoke it?
-
• #3263
It was a Shishamano groupset, wasn't it?
-
• #3264
What incredibly rare groupset is this? Well, it must be if the anchor bolt can't be found in the parts bin at your LBS.
Have fitted a condom on my pitchfork, just in case any of you weirdos visit.
-
• #3265
i wouldn't want to find out,but sure you'd get an answer in the "any questions " thread, what I meant was it's easy to misread the post you misread

...the massive smoke damage...
Epic WTF thread >>>
...you should have checked everything was in working order before you agreed to the sale.
I was using the group (on the frameset I sold TW) immediately before I sold it to you: if that's not thorough enough for you, then I suggest you buy your components new, from a shop.
I didn't want your £20, all I wanted was for you to acknowledge that the part was unsuitable.
Unsuitable for what? Neither the corroded cable clamp bolt, nor the rounded centring adjuster prevented me from using the rear brake.
I have already accepted your word, that the adjuster was rounded-off when you received it and explained what I would have, and actually have done to make amends.
If the corrosion of a petty fastener is preventing you from building your bike, then I suggest you buy your components new, from a shop.

Alas the time comes where after an unquantifiable amount of buying and selling through this gracious forum i have been burnt by an individual who despite offering a refund for any items that one was unsatisfied with, refuses to refund, and in fact makes clear remark to the fact that he obviously regarded what he sold as worthless rubbish in the first place.
A certain 'Explosifpete' who resides in the wonderful Great Dunmow, who's other for sale items include a cracked planet X carbon frame (Planet X stealth carbon) -
"I would be happy to use it as a beater or for cruising"
Later relisted as frameset only (FS Planet X stealth carbon frameset damaged but rideable, £60)
"I think its just the top resin layer that is cracked"
and whos more recent escapades include selling me some tubular tyres, that are neither use nor ornament.
I could go into further particulars such as highlights of his for sale thread (cheap tubs in 700c and 650c) indicating:
"These have all been pumped, left for a week and stayed inflated"
which i find hard to believe considering one of them didn't even have a valve core, and another had a hole worn right through it, and when i did pump them all up the remaining ones didn't even hold air overnight - but ultimately he dug his own grave with the statement:
"I don't want them back and would rather not pay for something i would
put in the bin".Word of warning fellow forum folk - this chap basically pedals shite.
Lesson learned from my side - any one with such a lovely unsuspectingly pleasant email address as 'friendlypete10@hotmail.com' clearly has friendliness issues....
Also available in eBay flavour - with an unexpectedly good feedback rating (petes_bikes11)
I guess he just saves all the shit that he wouldn't get away with on eBay for us humble forum folk. -

'Explosifpete' Looks like that might be the Dunwich Dyanomo tagger from a few years back?
-
• #3273
Spamming his eBay sales as well.

• #3274
Not familiar with that episode - he's just completely unreasonable
