Haha, not bad. We still need that dark visor, though. :)

Good pics, looks like a top day out.
What happened to Vojtech's old Pinarello frame? I was looking forward to seeing pictures of that ratty steel against the shiny new boards!

First of all I'd like to thank all the guys on lfgss who rode and hope that you all enjoyed the day, but more importantly I really have to thank all those who bought tickets and turned up to support the meeting. Cheers guys!

Bought a ticket.. but it was a cash in hand affair, seat number written in Biro.
Fairly sure it will never see a SCCU bank account, so was happy to layout twenty quid.Tried to get in for free of course.. but there was almost as many security guards as spectators.

They're not mine but I'm pretty sure the chap whose blog it is wouldn't mind.

What a fantastic event that was!

Who is going this year?
Serious questions (as have only been to the HHV version):
Does ticket allow multiple entry
How vigilant is the security regarding moving around within the stands
Does the event sell out?
-
• #286
Obviously I am going.
Multiple entry: Do you mean can you get a pass out? Yes you can.
Moving around the stands: Probably not too vigilant, but if someone turns up with a ticket bearing that seat number then you will have to move.
No matter what anyone says, no event other than the 'lympics have sold out in Lee Valley. Its got 6000 seats. We are only selling tickets for the lower tier of seats, which is 2800. If this sell out then maybe next year we will expand to the upper tiers. Tickets will be available on the day, but we like people to buy in advance because the venue ask us how many people will be attending. This has a direct bearing on the number of stewards and first aid responders that they require us to pay for.
Rest assured that this meeting is not a profit making venture for anyone involved. It is organised by, and for, track racing enthusiasts. All we aim to do is to cover the costs so that riders can enjoy good competition, well organised, in front of an appreciative crowd and vice versa.
If you have never been to LVVP before then this is a good reason to go.

I have enjoyed riding at LVVP.
My main concern was that the fun and relaxed nature (for the spectators!) of the HHV sessions wouldn't translate to the new environment.
Thanks for the info DM. -

popped over for a couple of hours today
saw dimi flying round looking like he was enjoying himself
then saw a nasty crash involving nik at brixton cycles, the ever gallant sir jimbilly was first on the scene, got her back on the bike after a quick mechanical tweak, gave her a shove off and she rejoined the race minus some lycra and some skin and finished well up the fieldrep for nik and jim

Second time racing it this year, loved it despite being ill. Such a great event, rep to all who went.

Thanks to all who came and rode.
We'll be getting a fair few pics from the various photographers to share on social and the website. If anyone wants shots of specific riders get in touch and I'll see what I can do -

Thanks to all who rode in the meeting, but more importantly maybe, thanks to all who came to watch. True, we didn't fill the place, but then to be fair, the attendances at Herne Hill had plummeted since 2003.
And remember also, had we still been at HH then we would have been rained off! -

what used to be one of the forum events of the year has now become almost invisible, not even a thread on it this year
would have been lovely down at herne hill today out in the sun, guns out, best bikes on show, world class riders and a fantastic spectacleanyone going to the velodrome

I'm going to the Velodrome. Not anywhere the same as Herne Hill Good Friday Meet but I've got some mates racing so going to cheer them on :)
-
• #297
I have to confess I've never even been tempted to go since it moved to the Lee Valley Velodrome.

I felt the same but went because I had some mates racing. It was a very good meeting...well organised & I enjoyed the racing which was from my modest level up to National Squad. A good day and I'll go again. Would prefer Herne Hill though...;)
