First wear of the Team Sky Winter training jersey this morning, perfect with a long sleeved base layer. Can't tell if it would hold up in real wet weather.

Those marginal gains to get into work anyone?

Can't wait to see a picture of someone wearing one of those in a sportive

What's the real difference between this and a racefit jersey/bibs set? People commute in race stuff all the time, I don't get everyones hangup with skinsuits* **
*must note I'm biased as I race cross in a LS onesie
** Probably wouldn't commute in it, I'm a walking contradiction, fence sitter.Edit: Just saw you said Sportive... which is in all intents and purposes, a pleasure commute.

Bibs and jerseys are stitched together, a la Castelli San Remo. Racing =/ commuting/sportive.

Woah. Tell that to the self-sponsored mamils self-medicating testosterone for a Fred Whittington PB.

You're right that racing isn't commuting/sportive, but a skinsuit is really just a Jersey and Bibs combined, people have no problem riding around in two separate items but there's a huge stigma around the one-piece!
I don't understand why, I get the same nagging doubt even when putting one on to get muddy.

I'm surprised that the skinsuit has pockets. not so aero
-
• #19937
It's for road racing rather than TT, so still has to have a degree of functionality.

Blatant Castelli San Remo rip.

Skinsuits are far more skin tight (obvs.) than a even normal jersey/bib race kit. The times i have ridden to HHV in mine, i found it to be pretty uncomfortable.
-

^ Needs to ride in the drops more on the commute

You need to pedal harder. By the time you're breathing out your arse you'll not notice the uncomfortable skinsuit.

Not something like a Castelli San Remo. That's the same size as a pair of Castelli shorts and a Castelli jersey in the same size as the San Remo skinsuit. As @nathwilson22 says, the only difference is that they're sewn together (and the shorts don't have bib straps) rather than being separate. I like my San Remos. Makes going for a wee much easier.

I agree, I read it as @nathwilson22 as stating a skinsuit = race bib and jersey, which i disagree with.

Skinsuits are uncomfortable and impossible to pee in. You'd have to be a huge fucking whopper to even think about wearing one for anything other than racing.

When can I buy this thing from Rapha?
-
• #19947
If I could, I would.

You called?

My skinsuit is really comfortable. Not practical but comfortable.
I guess you have to be a designated length (of body gutterbrain) or it'll be imperfect.

I did rvv in one once. Mine is well comfy and no trouble to pee out of.
