  • Good trip but really painful. Sadly we had no snow, it was all ice, apart from the 4 or 5 pistes with artificial snow. Last snow was 5th March so it was all pretty compacted. Engleberg is awesome, but I wouldn't recommend it unless you're sure there will be snow.

Went from being fully solid on greens on the last trip to being medium consistency on reds and, "Fuck me this so steep, I'm heel edging my way down this!" blacks. I avoided the mogul spec yellow run down from the very top.

Had a bit of a shit 1st half of my 3rd day where I was sure I was riding wrong foot forward, and the more I thought about it, the more it exacerbated my issues with steep turns. But then I put it aside and I had a better afternoon and then I had to stop around 14:00 on my fourth and final day as my glutes were so fucked and tight, I couldn't even reach down to do up my bindings or get up from a sitting position.

The Nike SB jacket was immense, really pleased I bought that, thanks for everyone's input on jackets. I need to take armour next year.

My borrowed Forum boots turned out to be 2.5 sizes too big so I rented some boots and that made a huge difference. Nobody noticed that my borrowed bindings had been set up with no forward lean until the 4th day and that was a noticeable difference even when moving them one notch.

Steep learning curve as ever, but I think I'm doing OK for 7 days in total over 12 months.
