  • Which was Steve Jobs'original dream, to make the Apple personal computer as ubiquitous as a toaster or any other item of technology in the home...

    Thanks, Steve...

  • How much will @Murtz charge for Apple watch straps?

  • Agree wholeheartedly, sadly

  • +1

  • @apollo, totally depends which version YOU have :)

  • New Tudor North Flag breaks cover, with in-house movement. I always thought a Tudor with an in-house movement was a Rolex...

  • ^ Utter bastards.

  • Don't like...

  • It looks to me like a modern take on the Explorer, like they did for the Submariner with the Pelagos.

  • Why the silly power monitor tho'?

  • not into the strap lugs but I'd like a watch with a power reserve indicator, seems like a very useful thing to know before taking off at bedtime or putting on in the morning. So in my watch news I have an epsa cased super-compressor winging its way to me from italy, can't wait!

  • The power reserve is a bit Seiko-ish but not in a good way. Not wildly into the hour hand either. Its close to being great.

  • We should totally design an LFGSS watch and put it on kick starter.

Use a 7s26 movement and just design the case, face, hands and starp.

  • I agree, it has a hefty whiff of Seiko 5... Er, 5/10...

  • Great idea, off the shelf bits and bobs and hey presto... #utfs

  • Had a look at specing my own valjoux on a forum. Got some tips and suppliers.

In the end tho, I didn't press the button as brand association and warranty kinda make histreet more attractive imo.

(If you know what you want)

  • Everyone I talk to about a potential Tudor purchase just says the same thing. Cool, but its not a Rolex.

  • I'd much rather own a vintage Tudor Sub than a Rolex but the price difference makes it seem pointless... They've gone through the roof in the last few years...

And I'm not so fussed about the new ones after trying them on...

  • it def appears that i sold mine too early.

    lesson: never sell stuff.

  • Why anyone who actually knows anything about watches would want a Rolex is beyond me. There are however just a few exceptions to this rule - a submariner (despite forever being tarnished by the clones it is the original) or a vintage Rolex such as the Explorer, Air King, or Perpetual Datejust.

Otherwise they're a pastiche of themselves as a brand that sold out to the highest bidder.

I think it was Joe that coined Tudor as the younger sexier sister of Rolex, as much as it pains me to say it, he was right.

  • I don't mind that tudor so much, but it looks like a £500 watch not a 5k one. And it would look waaay better if the power reserve was above the 6.

I quite like the power reserve meters on watches, appeals to my geek/tech side. Anyone know of any good looking watches with them?

  • This is my favourite implementation of a power meter:

  • ooof that's nice.

  • not bad...
