  • ^ sounds wise - about 9years ago I attempted a poorly researched repair on a Canonet G-III 17.

    Unable to handle the loss or concede defeat for my hasty cackhandedness I was haunted for 6months by the wreckage hidden in the kitchen drawer.
    I finally obtained peace and closure by binning it and accepting that I'm a shit camera repairer

  • Thank you for speaking so openly, thus making me realize I'm not alone:
    I too have failed miserably - in my case it was a known shutter button issue of the first L35AF I bought;
    apparently an easy fix, alas "hasty cackhandedness" ruined things very quickly, and the pitiful thing sat close to my desk with both reproachful and resigned face for months now.
    TODAY I WILL BIN !

  • Ah if you were in the UK I'd totally have that for parts (I like to occasionally DIY contraptions) but I guess not really with posting overseas... Is there an old school repair shop that would take it for parts?

  • shutter button issue

    Lovely phrase.
