Aaaw, that rear derailleur. ;-) But nevertheless very nice bike.

• #628
Nice , but agree about the rear mech tourture 😳
-

Yup, I agree... My poor excuse is that its the chain that came with the bike when I bought it.
I'm looking to swap out the FSA crank to a Chorus one, for a matching groupset, and I'll change the chain then. Although the frame is a little big so, we might be parting company before then.

I think the chain is ok but the position isn't. ;-) Never put it in big chainring and largest cog at the same time.
Yes, definitely change the crankset.
The frame is too big? It has about 5 cm of headsetspacer that can be trown off.

What size is your frame ? It might fit me
-
• #632
Its 54cm square. But, I've no idea if I'm going to part with it yet. :-)

Thanks. Its in really good condition, virtually no stone chips or paint damage at all.

Oh, and I've just got a new tripod, so ended up photographing four bikes to put onto here in the various threads.

the seat clamp cluster lug nods to post 96 , so I'd say its a colnago crystal model,
but it's really yellow
some say it was an entry level model for the later steel ranges, not really master or technos quality, though i think it's just above entry as there was a model called classic in that era on the bottom rung
tubes are brain
"I owned a lugged steel model called the "Crystal". I think it was a poorman's Tecnos" -

Anyone fancy having a punt on what a freshly restored Oval CX frame is worth (per this thread)?
My hearts been sapped out of the build and might cash my chips before I build it up...

Wish I could say they are something special saarf, but just these:
http://www.planetx.co.uk/i/q/WPPXF45/planet-x-ct45-carbon-tubular-wheelset
They came up at a such a good price with the tubs that I would have been daft not to try them, one irritation is the freehub...shimano splined only, so have to run a conversion cassette. They may be replaced with some handbuilts before summer but they'll do me for now

they look good, seem like a good deal!

Rebuild of my '91 Master "Team Ariostea" nearly finished (DA 7400/Wolber Aspin wheels are still "under construction"). Some anachronisms deliberately included: it has 10 Speed DA downtube shifters so I have a bit more gears to choose from.
