The pub next to my office now serves Punk IPA on draught.
Don't ask me how I know this..

Oh and one in the fridge and 20 cans in the fridge at home. What was that about alcohol and bone healing?

Spent a week in Mallorca last summer drinking mostly local lager/wine and then found a craft beer available in our hotel bar on the last night we were there. Can't remember the name, I'm afraid.
Turns out there's a reasonably healthy smattering of bars and bottle shops as long as you're in Palma.
Also this microbrewery in Alcudia.
I can recommend the Puig de Randa climb, too.

Both were lovely, might not drink again for a few days though, I went out after drinking these Thursday and got back at about 9 last night.

Spent the morning bottling the products of my (and others') hard work - an APA, black IPA, Belgian Blonde, golden ale and old ale - at the London Beer Lab. Just need to wait 3 weeks to sample them (and hope they don't explode in the meantime)

I noted that Busaba Ethai (thai restaurant chain) has a Beavertown offering in its beer list.
I had some interesting beer on the weekend. Paradox Islay, phew, beer whisky. Not really for me although I managed the glass.

Popped in to take a look tonight, not a bad selection happily not too London centric with its offering either. More reasonably priced than I expected too. Don't really get the bit at the back with the Sofa's.

This evening's reviews...
Beavertown Bloody Hell IPA: very tasty, nice strong taste that cut nicely through the haze of soaking in a hot bath. Just a nice hint of orange, not overpowering.
Wild Beer Co Wild Goose Chase: pretty good, not too sweet and fruity but a bit on the sour side for my liking. -

Buxton Wolfscrote - interesting flavours but a touch too sour for a Monday night. Not something you can rush.
Tried their Nth Cloud this weekend too. Very pleasant, slight sweetness and generally quite refreshing.

Hi guys,
I'm new to this forum (I've been snooping around for a few weeks), but I might as well make myself at home.
I went to a beer festival in Flanders at the weekend. beer list here: http://acbf.be/beerlist/
I thought I would mention that there's a Jester King tap takeover in The Kings Arms, Bethnal Green on Wednesday night. Apparently the last few meet the brewer things have been very busy, but their beers are pretty special. If you like mixed-fermentation beers, beers with a touch of sour and funk to them, then Jester King are worth the extra euros.
I might write up my trip at some point soon, or at least any future beer and bike tours. Cyclng in Flanders is pretty superb, especially so if you like lambic and Gueuze.

Oddbins Blackheath beer shop seemed to be 50-80p more expensive on everything but I can walk to it so swings and roundabouts.

Not exactly cheap, but might be well worth it

^ I don't like this idea of pairing food with beer. One thing I like about beer is that you can get away from all of the elitism associated with wine drinking. I'm not saying that pairing food with drink is necessarily elitist, but for beer... Come on.

You always hate to see well-established pubs like that disappearing. I only hope they won't replace it with a really monstrous building.

Last night's post-ride beers:
Floreffe Prima Melior - delicious
Vedett Extra Ordinary IPA - not extra ordinary, probably would have been better if it was 1-2% stronger -
• #3450
That's not necessarily true, the right food might bring out flavors from each beer that you wouldn't appreciate otherwise. On the other hand I believe the elitism you percieve in wine drinking is just a subjective thing, I drink either one with food pairing or just out of the bottle sitting on the grass in a park regardless, depending on the mood
Oddbins has opened a dedicated craft beer shop in Blackheath; 75% British stuff and rest from around the world. I'm going to investigate later.
