  • Pearl Izumi wxb softshell gloves & some altura liners
Have an outdry bonded liner , so waterproof too
Toasty hands , first time in a long time ! 3hr ride in very cold wind
best gloves I have had so far very pleased

  • Bought both of Phew.cc's offerings and I am well pleased with both.
The Early winters are super soft, windproof and very warm (just wore them on their own this and last week). The lobster'ish things are also the bomb but haven't had a chance to try the combination because the earlies on their own are warm enough. Bought a M in Early and L in lobsters.

  • Am I the only person riding around in a windbreaker, jeans and a tshirt? Wool gloves from the corner shop?

    #boastpost

Also: why are cycle specific gloves so expensive? Ski gloves on eBay are sub £20..

  • Because cycling was the new thing.

You can still buy good cycling gloves for £20, it's just you can now also buy them for £120 also.

  • any good shouts for thin waterproof layers to go over defeet merino. ideally very thin to shove in an overloaded jersey pocket/touring bag

  • gas station plastic gloves.

  • Anyone know what the best price on the merino defeets with uk postage is? the weak euro is killing me. Are they worth €30

  • chek out the sealskinz winter cycle gloves
they're 40, but if that's in your range they are good
    size up, though

  • 1st hit in google.

They are worth the premium over the regular knitted Defeats. Like their socks they're surprisingly warm and good in a big range of temps. They have some fans in this thread.

  • Winter is over...feel the spring...

  • Ski gloves can be expensive too - I give you Arc'teryx.

  • these must be warm, but not so waterproof

  • I can recommend the Roeckl Rona. They'll keep you warm and dry. The OutDry-Membrane stuff seems to really work, so they do not soak as much in a downpour.

  • These are what all the biathletes use right? Warm but with dexterity - the holy grail, surely?

  • Endura Full Monty seem to be very decent for current mornings/evenings and they're very reasonably priced.

  • Cost?

Winter's almost over so we should be looking at mitts now, right? ;)

  • please tell that to scotland

  • What are every ones favourite mitts? Padded or unpadded. It was 2 C on monday now its 12

  • In mitts today, time to let the thread fade away until we need it again

  • I bought a pair of the merino defeet gloves on the basis of everyone here raving about them but my hands are disappointingly cold. Actually, they mainly just hurt with the cold. But this is disappointing. I had high hopes.
Someone stole one (only one!) of my lobster gloves recently so I only have the right one now. This is a long shot, but does anyone have a left glove (ideally a sealskinz lobster, I guess) currently partnerless?

    I find this, too.

And I'm sorry to hear this. :( I couldn't be without my SealSkinz lobsters!

  • Anyone seen the non e-touch dura wool gloves?

I lost mine. I've some of the e-touch ones but they're no where near as nice fit.

  • Aw shit it's that time of year again :(
