I think that steel forks are great and bespoke ones even better. If you are not racing it probably wont matter much regarding weight.
I have looked a lot for straight bladed carbon forks, but I am not keen on the carbon/alu mix. Should be all carbon for lightness. Otherwise I would stick with steel.
Either way, your bike will be great. Looking forward to seeing it build.
