Dragged my FM066SL through 45km of Scottish potholes and driving rain today. Not a whimper from the bike (several from myself).
Chuffed to bits with it. Off to Mallorca soon.

thinking about a new crankset (rotors?) and new tyres (are gumwalls a bit much..?)
-
• #3414
Why a new crankset? It's a good amount of money for a small aesthetic change. Gumwalls always look good, and your levers need to move up the bars slightly.
-
• #3415
I'd prefer to run Ultegra/Dura-Ace cranks+rings rather than my Rotor/Praxis Cannondale/Praxis sets as nothing else seems to shift like Shimano.
-
• #3416
fair enough, before I moved to this frame I was running really old cables and the shifting was so so so awful. with new cables it's just amazing (on par with my mountain bike) so it could be a good idea not to change. I just think the ultegra crankset is so boring on a very boring looking frame. but I wouldn't want to compromise on shifting

Ride jah bike. Then upgrade the cranks when these need replacing.

I'm also looking at second hand Adamos and SMPs but just thought it was worth asking just in case.

Does anyone have experience with carbonzone? Also does anyone have any recommendations for a disk road or cross frame
-
• #3421
They make some of china's finest exploding clincher rims.

Are there are Chinese emonda copies/similar frame sets out there?

Get the Vitoria Open Pave GC III - they've blown my mind as to what a tyre can be like
-
• #3424
Get green ones though. Seriously considering not bothering with summer tyres, dunno how they're so tough but still supple.

I ride them all year round on both sets of wheels. Almost as fast rolling as CX's without the puncture dice rolling and terrible grip in the wet.
I ordered late last week and was posted at the start of the week apparently!
