So is Contador not on drugs anymore and as such not as good or is Froome banging em in at a rate of madness and as such is King of the Tarmac?
-
• #3682
It depends on which comments you read.
Some are holding Contador up as an example of the new era of clean cycling and some are holding Froome/Sky (Porte's been at it too) up as an example of the return to doping culture.
I'm just confused.

They clearly dope one another.

http://www.cyclingnews.com/news/pliuschin-suspended-for-salbutamol-non-negative
Some recent research suggests that permitted doses of Salbutamol might lead to an adverse analytical finding, depending on the time interval between the last dose and the dopage sample
n.b. the dosing profile in this test is far in excess of what somebody fit to race should need, but it looks like an appropriate dose could still put you over the limit if the timing is just right (or wrong). To me, though, the excretion rate doesn't seem to match the usual drug use profile, so I'm wondering whether poor inhaler technique (typical for users who don't use spacers, and try to dose during exercise) might have contributed to the very fast excretion by causing the test subject to dump more product in the gullet than in the airways. Needs more research. -

newest fad as tried by the new under 23 CX World Champ: Vaminolact baby medicin (Google translated so not very accurate). The drug itself is not on the list but he bought transfusion bags containing this stuff, which is a bit suspect

Is the consensus view amongst the cycling cognoscenti that Sky really are clean as a whistle?
Serious question from an ambivalent non believer who doesn't keep up with the cycling news like I should.
