I'm over it.

I take real joy in the fact that each contender is a perfect national stereotype.
My dream end would be for Tarzan to think he'd won and get all shouty and chest-beaty about it and Steve to be all gracious in defeat.
Then we find out there's been a mistake in the calculations and Steve has actually won, Tarzan gets cross and throws things and Steve nods, smiles and rides calmly home.

I assume you've met him.. What's he like?
I've bumped into him on a load of Audaxes over the years. He's a bit shy[1] but once he starts talking he opens up. He's a softly spoken nice bloke, very approachable and is really helpful to people getting into Audax; he used to organise DIY 600s specifically aimed at getting people through their first 600.
- Nothing unusual as far as Audaxers are concerned. Most will happily sit in a village hall avoiding eye contact for hours.

Nothing unusual as far as Audaxers are concerned. Most will happily sit in a pub knocking down one pint after the other for hours discussing PBP.
For hours being what audax is all about.

Keep an eye on the yacf PBP sub-forum (https://yacf.co.uk/forum/index.php?board=81.0). There are usually a few evenings in the pub (The Wibbas Down Inn Wetherspoons in Wimbledon) for the anciens to impart some of their wisdom to people considering doing it in the future.

Huh, pubs I used to work for, till I moved next door.
Big enough for a meet up that's for sure.

As long as you haven't been barred because you're co-worker kicked a bouncer in the testicles... can't remember if that was before or after I sold a Roubaix to the Weatherspoons regional manager.

That's way after I left, we used to all go there for a drinks after a late shift (and very envious at those who went in after their early shift).
