I run 25mm and SKS longblades with loads of clearance.
Remember to consider which headset you will use, as the stack height is quite important.
Btw. I would really advice against getting a light mat color, it really is impossible to keep any kind of clean.

Thanks. Do you have a photo showing the clearance? The one you posted a few pages back makes it look like the mudguard stood before the caliper?
Agreed on the headset. I've shown it with stack to match a hope external headset, and a few spacers under the stem (10mm). That way I can get a bit lower if I want in the future, and higher without a massive spacer tower should I need to (injury etc).
Thanks for the warning on paint. Yours certainly looks great in photos though!

Cool stuff here!!

For my order with Mielec I made a document, containing a CAD sketch with all dimensions, a list with all dimensions and a list with all requirements, starting with tubing and covering everything from dropouts to color.
If you like I could send it to you as a template. -

Sounds sensible, and yes please.

did it work?

Can I haz it too?
Cheers

And me? I'd love anything that makes communication with mielec easier.

Okay, I'll write up a template tonight and post it here.

Thanks, will be having a look at that tomorrow.

The mudguards are only from the caliper and back, but that's only due to me being too lazy to install the rest. Bad knee it keeping me from any real winter training, so it's only for those dryer/hotter winter days.
I'll take pictures of the clearance today. -

Sorry for the crap photos - I was in a little hurry. The tires are 25mm GP4Season.

I find the dirty unpolished version of @Captain_P a lot sexier
-

@Captain_P thank you! It looks like you have ~10mm between top of tyre and bottom of caliper, is that about right?

Here's the latest tweaks. The colour update is so I can tell apart different revisions of the concept at a glance.

you really have to dimension the drawings or we can't spot the differences apart from the colour.
-that is only to distinguish the iterations. -

Good point. I'm new to this designing-out-loud thing.
Edit: I'm glad you mentioned it - I've realised bikeCAD will show the tyre clearance at the fork crown, and I can tell that my mudguards aren't gonna fit.
-

If only there was some way to remove the clearance issue!
It's such a shame that you are stuck with the compromises that caliper brakes impose on this bike.
Still, maybe one day, in the far far future someone will invent a method of braking that is separate from the rim.
2050 probably.

You jest, it's tight because I used the a-2-c of an Enve 2.0 fork, but mine will be custom steel so I'm not tied in to those dims.
-

You are if you need to position the caliper a certain distance from the centre of the brake track.
A few geo tweaks, including matching the fork length to an Enve 2.0 (just in case).
The colour is after @Captain_P
