• I agree. The guy just wants to ride his bike. I get the sense that the publicity side of it is not easy for him..
    @robadob - I've thought about this a bit. Most interviews I've heard with him this year are A. over the phone, and B. at the end of a long day/week/month on the bike. Jack's interview was one-to-one in his home and before he had started. I don't know but I reckon that makes a huge difference. @hippy - I assume you've met him.. What's he like?

  • Nope, never knowingly met him. Or if I did I wasn't in a fit state to recall. I've known 'of' him for a while though.

    I've bumped into him on a load of Audaxes over the years. He's a bit shy[1] but once he starts talking he opens up. He's a softly spoken nice bloke, very approachable and is really helpful to people getting into Audax; he used to organise DIY 600s specifically aimed at getting people through their first 600.

    1. Nothing unusual as far as Audaxers are concerned. Most will happily sit in a village hall avoiding eye contact for hours.
