  • Bottom are J&L, top are Rockbros. Both claim to be 6/4 Ti. Cheers @bosberg, not too worried about axle length though. Do the J&L ones seem like decent quality? Tending towards those, despite the extra 10g.

  • The axle retaining screw, see here

  • hummn strange - yeah i thought so

owned probably about 10 pairs of various speedplay zeros and never needed more than a bit of gritted teeth and a torx multi-tool to get the bolt out...

  • Yeah, they seem pretty well machined. Very similar, if not identical tolerances to the original axles. Haven't used them yet though. Picking up some Sidis tomorrow night... can't wait.

  • I'd go with the j and l ones, more tried and tested and I don't think I've heard of many people having problems with them

  • This: http://www.amazon.com/RockBros-Titanium-Spindle-SpeedPlay-Action/dp/B00JSNW2PG

seems to suggest the RockBros are shorter than standard chromo/stainless axle (same length as Speedplay Ti axles perhaps...?)

  • These are the ones advertised as "Lollipop" pedals on eBay:

    These are the Ward ones:

    And so are these:

Difference between the Lollipop and the Ward is partially wrench-flats, and also (Ward on right):

I can't explain the ~1g difference between the Wards.

  • Could be a nanogram difference without more precision on the scale.

  • Could be a nanogram difference without more precision on the scale.>

That is why every WW needs a precision analytic lab balance.

with at least 0.1mg readability and repeatability-- 0.01mg are also widely available but probably overkill here. Getting them calibrated to a traceable standard (for example UKAS, NIST or DIN) is also a good idea.

  • If I can't buy them I don't care.
Just put them out for sale.

  • Oh I thought the site said they are available to buy ..

  • Not that I can see on online shop.

  • Handled these a few weeks ago. THey are teh sex

  • Only just saw this.

@skinny will speak to our distro about availability.

  • Thanks.

They have been publicised for ages. But no release date visible...

  • Can see two places in the US with them but nowhere in the UK.

  • $54

So they'll be £86 in UK then?

    Bulk order?

Wait.. are the cleats actually different or is it just a cover for them?

  • $54 = £86 how on earth did you work that one out hippy?!

At that price in guessing they're jut a cover

  • 55 is cleat plus cover according to the speedplay page. No mention of price of covers, only that they will ve available separately

  • fair play to speedplay then, roughly that'd be £36 retail price, probably a bit less market price, normal cleats are £32 online at the moment, so no upcharge for the new covers...

speedplay being good to it's customers, maybe they've turned a corner

  • I didn't work it out, I was being facetious. It's just that stuff in the US seems to come over here and magically cost the same amount in GBP, ie. it's more expensive. Then they wonder why people order internationally when, even with postage, it's cheaper from USA.

  • speedplay being good to it's customers, maybe they've turned a corner

They still don't do C-Springs as spare parts, so >>>

  • ah, went right over my head, haha. Well if the above is right, I'd be in on/help organize a group order.

  • and magically cost the same amount in GBP

It's the result of the 'distributor' taking their cut.
