It will be fine, just make sure it doesn't interfere with anything when you turn the bars.

Stripped threads under my mad power?
Broken teeth as soon as any grit gets between chain and sprocket.
I thought you were going ISO on the hill climb bike.

Figured as much.
Save a shard for me, but bleach it first. -
• #66430
Think I'm just gonna stick with threaded 3/32. ISO hub from Mack is 40g and 30 Euros more, and the inner chainring on the Chorus cranks is close enough to 42mm that I'm not worried about chainline.

Why are most bikes generally used with or designed for seatposts with setback? Seems more sinple to just design them around an inline post.
Would it be odd to get a custom frame made and then use an inline post with it?

@mdcc_tester thanks, yeah extra cable ties on the brake cables

Dual purpose - semi TT-compatible in terms of ST angle.

I think it is because a setback seatpost generally has a bit of damping:

Sonic Cycles? I've not looked but they do some funky chainrings so they might have sprockets.

Scoble's taking things a bit far these days, no?
-
• #66437
Got me to work ok. I think I'll wrap a zip-tie around the brake and head tube for a bit of extra security (read: 1 second extra during which to jump off bike mid-descent).

I'm with Tester on this one, I stripped an alloy sprocket in a mad moment of 80's weenieism, Sean Yates did the same at the Nationals....

• #66439
Bleach? Where's the fun in that?
-
• #66440
Ha! My seatpost is comfier than a suspension post. My Thomson, however, is not.

Cheers. Interesting that the Ti moots is so abusive.
After the weekend I don't doubt that a thomson inline is fucking harsh!

best eccentric solution for a square taper 90's road bike frame
the drops are vertical and i want to get it fixedoptions
- magic gear .... haven't investigated this as yet might be a simple solution if i can fathom it out
- bottom bracket .... seen phil do an philcentric square taper but it's $£$£$£$£$£$ and rare
- rear hub ... eno or some such eccentric rear hub hubs are a bit pricey
ideally nothing that squeaks , nothing that needs continous fettling / adjustment, something i can install without needing specific mechanic only phil tools
- magic gear .... haven't investigated this as yet might be a simple solution if i can fathom it out

4: modify frame

it only arrived this morning
i'll wait for a few more replies before i take the hacksaw to it -

Buy an appropriate frame instead.

NO

I was using a 23c clincher with a 23mm rim and had a tight clearance with the fork crown.
Reckon I'd be able to get a 25mm tub in there instead?
-
• #66448
Definetly maybe, my experience is that tubs sits lower than clinchers.
-
• #66449
I think I have a 25mm tub on my zipp if you want to try it?

what is the cheapest bike grease for pedals/seatposts/etc I can buy online? I'm looking to get some grease to install pedals... but I don't need much - everything I can find online are huge tubs!
But grams... Even for hillclimbs? Or especially for hillclimbs? Stripped threads under my mad power?
