Can should easily be the successor to the armband plus he has much better defensive awareness than the outgoing SG. The hope is that Lovren, who is slowly being introduced back into the 1st team and will soon take up a permanent position in the back 3 and we can see Emre in midfield where he belongs.

Then come August - September after losing 2 out of our fist 4 games of the new PL season it will be all over again.

Hype aside, it strikes me as about the best draw us deluded Scousers could have hoped for. Probably the 2 best sides left in it pitted against each other, another all-EPL tie, and the certainty that a team from outside the top flight will reach the semis.
