  • +1 on Hirsch... got one on my seiko...

  • Cost me £255. Serviced two years ago:

  • Hey guys...been a while since ive been on this thread!

Do any of you read revolution magazine?

  • I wouldn't mod it. I think it's Damn nice as it is @radar, @spotter

  • But don't trust me...

    Not all like my taste.

  • great price! if you get bored and want to pass it on i'll give you a good price ;)

  • It's kind of why I bought it, I enjoy modifying and rebuilding things, and I fancied doing something like this:

But now it's here, I like it as it is. Dunno, I'll give it a couple of weeks.

  • radar - what modded model is that and who does it? Do you have a link? Thanks.

  • @Rikki I've got one on my wrist right now, same colour, they're quite a substantial strap, though quite soft from the off....you might want the darker one with your new watch though, I think it would make the shine stand out. Also, you're on curved end pieces...it might leave some empty space between your lugs!

Personally I'd go for a dark polished style strap....but the Terra is nice, mines on a green faced Seiko Sarb 017 Alpinist, so more colour coordinated.

  • Cancel my previous unmod like...this looks sweet! I've a modded monster, military face, no date window, green AR sapphire....pic to follow!

  • @VanUden - it's an SKX007 with the dial from a Monster (which you can buy as an OEM part), and a 'Planet Ocean'-style bezel insert, an aluminium chapter ring and a set of hands from third party suppliers.

The original was built by a guy who calls it a Planet Monster, but I believe Yobokies will build something similar for you, if you enquire.

  • It looks stock to me, but what do I know?

I'd love a full on #everythingblack modded SKX007 but it'd probably wind up costing a fortune...

  • Thought the Steinhart might come today but Fedex tracking isn't making me hopeful :'( cri evrytime

  • Instrmnt watches. Look pretty smart. Anyone got one?
A little worried that a 40mm face might be too big for a scrawny cyclist arm though.

  • I have never been a fan of the plongeur hands, or the Monster's green looking indices.

  • Me either, in fact I have a strong feeling of revulsion whenever I see a Monster, but I do feel the dial works well in this mashup.

  • it's a skx, so google "seiko custom" it'll be at the top of the images

  • I bought my 'PlanetMonster' from Yobokies over three year ago and have worn it pretty much 24/7 since. Might be time for a new bezel insert. Great lume at night with the Monster dial.

  • Had a look at some Hirsch straps yesterday, unfortunately they didn't have the Terra but I think you may be right, dark polished looked quite nice with the watch considering its so shiny. Popping back tomorrow with the OH and I'll try and take a few shots of the ones I've picked, their names escape at the minute

  • I'm still making these :)

  • I thought some other guy used to be making watch straps. Weird name, can't quite remember. Something mumbled ...

  • Lovely. Can I ask how much a typical strap would be? And how thick they are?

I bought a Toshi strap last year and, while its beautiful and well-made, it was a bit pricey, and the thickness of it means it's really only suitable for weekend use. Could do with something around the 2-3mm mark, rather than 4mm+.

  • Still loving my strap thanks again Murtz.

  • Likewise on price and thickness! I'd be interested in whether you'd also do a 20mm Rallye style or variation it, I've just bought one but its a little thick and too short...bit like me..;)
