Rogan, if we're talking about the same compresionless (I think we are) shop around, alligator i-link seem to be the best and cheapest, and can be had for just over £50 all in here:

Jagwire compressionless is like £30 in my shop.
Shop is in Walton on Thames, can do it for you on a day I'm not working.

perform great, feel sucky.
Feel sucky how? I've got Deore V's for my cross bike build..
-
• #559
loads of lever pull to get any action
loose at the beginning (as in you can wobble the levers before any cable actually gets pulled)
very spongy once power is applied
-
• #560
sounds great :-/
-
• #561
this is at least 50% down to my terrible mechanics skills however so dont be too worried
-
• #562
but you didn't get on with canti's?
-
• #563
I quite liked cantis most of the time, but they weren't great in the wet. Then the CX9s came up on ebay and I wanted to get lower front end so the mini's allowed me to lose the cable hanger under my stem too
If I still dont get on with the mini-v's after compressionless I'll consider going back to cantis and a bigger degree drop stem
-
• #564
not great in the wet - hmm... don't sound ideal for cross racing!
-
• #565
Brakes are for slowing you down a bit in cross racing, not stopping.
The best option, as already mentioned, is the Avid Shorty Ultimate. Best canti (and mini-v) brake by far.

Ok thanks Andy. Pomp is also going to double up as a beater so not sure I want to put £120 worth of brakes on it.. I'm just going to see how I go with the Deore's.
-
• #567
y u no get bike shop to set the fucking things up properly?!

My Pomp is my beater too (but with Avid Ultimates on it). No thief would have the array of different allen key sizes needed to dismantle them!

Ha!
-
• #570
first world problem - found the perfect tyre pressure for commuting, far too squishy for the rollers though, dammit.
-
• #571
Different pressure for different scenario.
-
• #572
With a bike like this why would you ever need rollers?

living in london, working long hours

Get a Kickr, no more problem.

Awesome read, not like i was supposed to be writing up some of my dissertation or anything. Nonetheless I'll put this down as time well spent. such a nice bike, I'm firmly with everyone else though more pics, especially now its surely been abused somewhat.
no, too broke to do anything just yet
