    My phone can take two sim cards and I may as well as make use of this, given giff gaffs occasional data outages and poor rural coverage.

    Yes, as long as you actually use it occasionally. I had an O2 one which got disconnected through lack of use a few years ago, so I now schedule one outgoing call from my PAYG phone each month to keep it alive. A two second call to my house phone does the trick.

  • Yes, I bought an orange one a while ago to take advantage of Orange Wednesdays. Tends to be that the Sim is free but you need to top up a tenner or something at the same time. I think it's something like six months that the credit lasts for with no activity.

    I got it from PC World.
