That raceblade has saved me a soggy bottom plenty of times this winter. I didn't intend to use this bike as a daily commuter, but after my daily fixed got fucked up by a SMIDSY driver I had little choice but to use this. Planning to take this out to ride around the hills and lakes of Hokkaido this summer.
The build is better without the blades, road grime and bamboo...honest.

Digital coax cables, are these the same as normal RCA phono cables? It's so long since I used anything other than HDMI that I can't remember. Cheers

thanks, they look likely...
(although I assume the £30 is for the brazing, so plus the cost of the eyelet?) -

thanks everyone.
I've just come up against a problem though. I can't really afford to replace the wheels. and the rear is a screw on freewheel fitting. -

much better!
In other news, I'm going to have a crack at getting some Flo's this evening and if that fails then it'll be rs31s on order...
now the only question is how brave am I feeling about a front - 60 or 90....

90

Same connector, but with a coaxial cable of specific impedance, can't remember off the top of my head whether it's 50Ω or 75Ω

60 or 90
I know a couple of people with 90s, and they don't seem nervous about wind conditions.

75

Cheers, I'll spend a few quid on the specific cable then.

I've used the video part of a composite cable with no issues in the past, if you have one lying around...

Is there a nice way of ripping soundcloud sets? Can I just drag it out of a browser cache? Or do I need to record them "live" so to speak?
-
• #66341
Yeah, I was trying to avoid 3rd party plugins and all that spammy spyware shit that goes along with them.

This works:
https://gameplayjdk.wordpress.com/2014/01/10/how-to-download-any-track-from-soundcloud-com-10-01-2014/Just had to find the mp3 request and then load that separately. From there, in FF, you can 'Save Audio As...'

Helpful forum folk,
30mm deep carbon clinchers. Assume I'd need inner tubes with 45mm valve legth?
Can you get tubes with valves with smooth sides (not threaded) with 45mm valves?
Thanks

Cheapo decathlon tubes can be had in 48mm and are non threaded. Jus' sayin'

My Serotta CSi has 6800 on it, works very well, I think it looks pretty good.
Do it.

I want to add some plug sockets to our hallway.
I know very little about home electrics - I'll be getting a pro in, obvs.
Is it safe to assume that where there is a light switch it's a reasonably straightforward job to install a plug socket?

IME the ring main (for power sockets) and lights are on separate circuits. So probably not necessarily.
-
• #66348
Yeah looks like it doesn't it. Rats.

Is there a socket in another room on a wall shared with the hall? If so, it's pretty trivial to put in the new socket more or less back to back with the existing one. If not, extending an existing ring main is often more trouble than just adding a new radial circuit to your new socket. IANAElectrician and I haven't done any of this stuff since the 16th Edition, and we're now on 17.3
