You can use tubes if they don't self-seal.
So, basically for small stuff, they self-heal, saving time having to faff about with tube swapping and for anything more serious you can always stick a tube in them and carry on like a normal clincher.

You can put an inner tube into a tubeless tyre if needs be. Apparently very difficult, but doable.
edit ^yeah what hippy said.

Hope they're working out for Steve. Meanwhile back in Florida this is how Tarzan changes a flat with the assistance of a support vehicle.

Steve said they'd probably saved him ~10miles worth of time spent changing tubes already, I think it was.

Christ - over 60% of the whole year on his bike. Beggars belief.

I was thinking more along the lines of strava rounding up decimal points rather than directing the error upon yourself.
I'm struggling to understand how 200 miles days are even possible given the conditions out there, let alone doing that day after day.

Going beyond my logic now plus my yearly mileage !

It just seems like one thing after another for the poor guy:

What a great article - nicely written and true to Steve's character and the commitment of his team of helpers. Well done Zoe.

Just having a look at Tarzan's FB profile. It seems he is also getting divorced during his attempt. That is multitasking! No such distractions for Steve it would appear.

I thought he was currently getting divorced from a polyamorous arrangement with his bikes?

oh why has someone changed the oneyeartimetrial strava disply units to metric???!
i now have to perform 50% more mouseclicks in order to gather the data
I'm interested on peoples thoughts on Stevens choice of tyres, not the brand (Schwalbe), Steve has gone all out tubeless, one of his sponsors
They sound great with that self sealing liquid you pour in though Im not a convert and have only ever used clinchers and tubular tyres
I mean its long distance, Ok they self seal, though what about a major fail with a puncture that won't self seal?, you can boot a clincher, can't see how you'd boot a tubeless, and a en-route tubeless tyre change looks like a major operation in comparison of the clinchers?
Also I cant see any difference in weight or rolling resistance
Maybe Im missing something?
